Building a new soil washing plant in Rådal

Nordic Bulk, in collaboration with the Irish construction giant CDE, is in the process of installing a soil washing plant for FSG in Rådal. The project aims to ensure that a much larger volume of materials can be recycled and reused in new projects.

FSG is engaged in the extraction and production of a variety of gravel products, as well as managing landfills for heavier construction and demolition waste, including contaminated materials.

Their new soil washing plant is designed to significantly reduce the amount of contaminated stone and soil that ends up in landfills. At the same time, the plant will help create profitable and sustainable revenue streams for FSG.

Mivanor plays a central role in the delivery

Nordic Bulk chose Mivanor’s flagship technology as a central component in the overall delivery to the plant.

By using MivaMag™, FSG will be able to reuse process water, making the plant circular in every aspect. Additionally, the technology will ensure that the soil washing plant can maintain continuous operation.

Project manager at Nordic Bulk, Steen Sanddahl, says that he has been extremely satisfied with having Mivanor’s support when offering a comprehensive, sustainable water treatment solution for larger projects.

He believes that climate and environmental challenges are becoming an increasing focus across many industries, and that it is important to keep an eye on water treatment moving forward.

– We are seeing growing focus on climate and the environment, which will continue to develop in the future. Having Mivanor’s support in projects like this is invaluable for us, for the customer, and for the environment, he says, adding:

– We have been working with Mivanor since 2022, and we are very pleased with the results we have achieved so far with MivaMag™ in our previous projects.

Sanddahl refers to the delivery of the soil washing plant to Massebalanse AS in 2023, where MivaMag™ proved to be a key component of the overall delivery.

A beneficial partnership in the face of new environmental requirements

The strategic partnership with Nordic Bulk, since the first project in 2022, has proven to be a major contributor to sustainability and the environment.

Mivanor’s CEO, Robert Tarasz, is very pleased with the collaboration and calls it highly beneficial:

– As a total provider of water treatment solutions, we are always ready to deploy our technology where it is needed. Through our collaboration with Nordic Bulk, we have been able to introduce our treatment solutions into several projects, which repeatedly proves to be beneficial in meeting new environmental requirements.

Robert also believes that the partnership has opened many doors within the focus on water treatment in soil washing:

– As mentioned, we are constantly looking for new areas where we can introduce our technology. This will be our second project with Nordic Bulk where MivaMag™ is included in the total delivery of a soil washing plant. We are seeing excellent treatment results, and we can confirm that our technology is helping to drive the industry toward a more sustainable future.
