Mivanor to Treat Process Water in Major Project in Oslo
With the increasing focus on circular solutions and sustainable construction processes, FRANO AS has chosen Mivanor as the supplier of treatment technology for its new soil washing plant at Bånkall. The plant, resulting from a collaboration between Franzefoss and NOAH, will treat up to 300,000 tons of contaminated soil annually and represents an important investment in future environmental solutions.

To ensure efficient and sustainable operation of the plant, FRANO has chosen to invest in Mivanor’s treatment technology. This solution enables the reuse of water in the soil washing process, providing both environmental and economic benefits.

Price Tag of 200 Million NOK
The soil washing plant is estimated to cost 200 million NOK and will contribute to significant environmental savings. This is part of a major initiative for circular solutions, which benefits both the environment and the wallet.
– Recycling surplus materials helps preserve the climate and environment in many ways. Stone extraction and gravel pits have a longer lifespan as washed environmental gravel replaces virgin stone, while the capacity of landfills and dumpsites can be reserved for materials that cannot or should not be recycled, says Kari Røseth, CEO of FRANO, adding:

Good Results in Soil Washing Plants
The experiences so far show that our solution ensures good treatment performance and facilitates the reuse of water in the washing process. This provides both environmental benefits and more sustainable operations.
This will be Mivanor’s third project in the treatment of process water from soil washing processes. We have previously delivered solutions in collaboration with Nordic Bulk to Fana Stein & Gjenvinning and Massebalanse AS, and more projects in this field are planned for the spring.
