Set to lead Mivanor into a new growth phase
Tor Erik Moan is the man who will lead Mivanor into a new phase of intensive growth. With a background in both offshore and the water industry, he is now stepping into the role of CEO at Mivanor.
– I’m truly looking forward to getting to know both my new colleagues and our customers. Mivanor is an exciting company with great growth potential, says Tor Erik.
Solid experience in water and technology
He holds a bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering from the University of Stavanger and has spent long periods at both Halliburton and Xylem. At the latter, he worked with water and wastewater solutions and held a leadership role in the Stavanger region.
– After working in industry and management in water treatment, oil and gas, and logistics for over 15 years, it felt very natural to join Mivanor. The company has been around for ten years but is still in a development phase, and I was tempted by the opportunity to help take it further,Tor Erik says.
Good framework for a new leader
The transition to the new leadership role has taken place in close cooperation with founder and former CEO Robert Tarasz, who now becomes Chief Technology Officer.
– It’s been a very good start. I’ve familiarized myself with everything from finance to company culture. The collaboration with Robert has been open, structured, and positive. It’s special to join a company where the founder is still active and passionate about the field, says Tor Erik.
Prioritizes people and opportunities
Tor Erik describes his leadership style as trust-based, with a focus on responsibility and development.
– I don’t believe in micromanagement. People work best when they are trusted and given space to think for themselves. My job is to set direction, provide support, and at the same time offer freedom, he says, adding:
– When you understand the people and their needs, it becomes easier to spot new opportunities. Sometimes a fresh perspective can catch things that have been overlooked over time.
Wants to put water purification on the agenda
Among his top ambitions is to strengthen the visibility of Mivanor’s technology and professional expertise.
– Many are unaware of how demanding and important water purification is, especially here in Norway, where we’ve historically had easy access to clean water.
He wants to raise awareness of this issue and make Mivanor’s solutions more accessible in the market.
Forward-looking, but true to the values
Even though Tor Erik has clear ambitions for growth and development, it is important to him to preserve Mivanor’s culture and values.
– We will build on what already works well: team spirit, quality, and sustainability. At the same time, we will evolve and create solutions that last, both for us and our customers, he concludes.
