MivaSorb is an unique solution for treating industrial wastewater contaminated by PFAS.
Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (from now on written PFAS) are a group of man-made chemicals that includes PFOA, PFOS and many other chemicals. The MivaSorbTM is designed to adsorb and remove PFAS and other pollutants from water. The results from pilot testing shows a reduction of 90-99% of PFAS compounds in the water and 90% reduction of other ions.

How does adsorption work?
Our product MivaSorb removes PFAS from polluted waste- or groundwater in a simple process through adsorption in a rotating packed bed.
MivaSorb consists of a cylindrical rotary container inside a vessel. Due to rotary movement of the reactor, adsorption medium will enter the reactor from the bottom of the vessel and water is circulated through the reactor and adsorption material.
In this way the pollutants encounter the adsorbent many times over. Besides this, loading and re-loading of the reactor with adsorption medium can be automated.

Why do we need to remove PFAS from water?
Those chemicals are very persistent in the environment and in the human body – meaning they don’t break down and they can accumulate over time. Some of the more severe consequences is that this can lead to several negative health effects like cancer (for PFOA), thyroid hormone disruption (for PFOS) and general effects on the immune system.
