After six months of testing, MivaMag shows very good results as a cleaning solution for salmon slaughterhouses and fish processing companies.
Since the beginning of the year, Mivanor has focused on cleaning blood, flushing and process water from various companies in the blue industries: mainly salmon slaughterhouses and fish processing companies.
The purpose: to demonstrate that our technology MivaMag can contribute when salmon slaughterhouses and others involved in fish processing - and which are subject to cleaning requirements from the EU through their own BREF for Food, Drink and Milk industries - have to meet new requirements in December 2023.
MivaMag is BAT-approved, but has not yet been tested at this type of company.
After more than 14 different test attempts for 9 different companies, we can now present very good results:
In summary, the cleaning degree for all parameters is on average 89% after cleaning with MivaMag - which makes MivaMag a good candidate as a cleaning solution, or as a cleaning step up to the BAT-AEL requirements for these industries.
Details and degree of purification for each main parameter can be found further down on this page.
- Very exciting
- It is very exciting for us to explore how MivaMag can help various companies with their cleaning requirements, and at the same time make their cleaning more efficient and make them more sustainable in the process, says sales engineer Anders Are.
Here you can see a video of the original test attempts earlier this year.
He has led the process of collecting and carrying out small-scale testing of the water for various actors in the fishing and farming industry along the coast. He believes the work has already opened several new doors for Mivanor.
- We have constantly seen how our cleaning solution has helped to clean more and more types of industrial emissions. Now we can also open up even more to the blue industries, and in the process we have seen that MivaMag also has areas of application outside of those we had originally thought, says Are, and adds:
- It has been exciting to collaborate with so many companies on water samples, and we stand with open arms to become a supporter for the industries in the face of new BAT-AEL requirements, says Are, who emphasizes that Mivanor has already helped set the new requirements in focus through several online cases - including at iLaks.no and Intrafish.no.
