2019 is soon history, and for Mivanor, there are several milestones to look back on, both in terms of technological development, new markets, and the company's growth.

DISPLAY PLANT FOR WATER PURIFICATION COMPLETED
We delivered our first purification plant to Iris Salten IKS at the Vikan Landfill. We have now constructed a display plant that houses the MivaMag purification plant and serves as a showcase for other purification technologies. We are proud of our new signature building and welcome those who want a closer look at how magnetic particle separation works.

FINALIST FOR THE SIVA AWARD
In April, it was announced that, due to the exciting technology we have developed and our strong innovation pace, we were candidates to win the Siva Prize 2019. Mivamag was mentioned, as well as the development project related to the purification of PFAS in groundwater. We didn't win this year, but we had an exciting and inspiring day at SIVA and are proud to have reached the finals.

ENTREPRENEUR OF THE YEAR AT OPPLYST
2019 The award is given to companies that, through innovation and creativity, have contributed to or represent potential for increased value creation in the Salten region - and it was truly an honor to receive such recognition on home ground!

PILOT PLANT FOR PFAS PURIFICATION
In May, Robert, Mivanor's technical director, proudly discussed the latest addition to our product portfolio; MivaSorb.

– Our customers should expect that the products we offer at least meet today's regulatory requirements, and preferably tomorrow's requirements set by the authorities. By being forward-thinking and putting in a solid effort in developing MivaSorb, we can offer a product that sets the standard for the results customers can expect from a PFAS purification technology, he explained.

AQUA-NOR, SARDINIA SYMPOSIUM, AND AQUATECH TRADE 2019 has been a real trade fair year.

First, we were present at Avfall Norge's annual meeting in June, followed by a booth at Aqua-Nor in Trondheim in August.

In October, we attended the Sardinia Landfill Symposium, where Robert and Fredrik presented a technical talk to stakeholders in the landfill industry. In November, Fredrik, Robert, Anders, Espen, and Pernille traveled to Amsterdam. They had two objectives: to gain insight into what's happening in the European market and to seek potential partners in Europe and gather inspiration from other suppliers.

The most exciting meetings with stakeholders were those with concrete and specific projects. In discussions with potential customers, we learn a lot and gain a better understanding of the requirements we will face when Europe becomes our market too.

INVITED TO THE ITAG INNOVATION FORUM
During AquaTech, we had the opportunity to present magnetic particle separation for Isle Solution at the iTag Innovation Forum. The group's purpose is to connect investors with new technologies. During the AquaTech trade fair in Amsterdam, they organize their own forum called iTag.

Here, a select few actors have the opportunity to present their solution to major industry players such as Shell, Proctor & Gamble, and Coca-Cola. And we were chosen to present magnetic particle separation to an audience of water purification experts.

– It was very nerve-wracking but also very informative to present in front of such a panel, says Robert. He and Anders were in the spotlight and had exactly 15 minutes to present their pitch, followed by questions from the expert panel.

ACHIEVED THE TITLE OF GAZELLE COMPANY 2019
– Considering that the company was established in 2014, we can pat ourselves on the back and conclude that Mivanor has had a solid start as a company. Now we are excited about what awaits in 2020 and look forward to formulating new strategies for further growth, says Fredrik, Managing Director.

Today, the company consists of six employees, has offices in Bodø and Sandnes, and has delivered 15 purification plants. These include all the intermunicipal waste management companies responsible for a landfill in Nordland county.
